The Jaguars are now getting their salary cap in order for 2026 and it started with the restructures of C Patrick Mekari and S Eric Murray. The two player both added three void years to their contracts and did max conversions on their base salaries to open up $10.72 million in cap room for the Jaguars.
Mekari had $9.2 million converted into a signing bonus which reduced his cap figure by $7.36 million. His 2027 cap number increased by $1.84 million to $18.173 million and there is $1.84 million sitting in each of the three added void years. 2027 is the final year of his contract and he is in a strong position to get an extension if the Jaguars have a solid season in 2026.
Murray converted $4.2 million of his salary creating $3.36 million in cap room. He will have his cap number in 2027 increase by $840K to $4.23 million and there is $840K in each of those void years.
We now estimate the Jaguars to be about $6 million over the salary cap.
