Contract Notes

David Njoku signed a four year, $54.75 million contract with the Browns. According to PFT, Njoku received $28 million in guarantees of which $17 million is fully guaranteed at signing. Njoku received a $11.465 million signing bonus and his 2022 and 2023 salaries are fully guaranteed. If on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2023 league year, an $8 million 2023 roster bonus and $3 million of his 2024 salary will be guaranteed. Another $2 million in incentives are available.

The Browns and Njoku agreed to restructure the contract for cap purposes on August 21, 2023. As part of the restructure the Browns converted $3.42 million of Njoku's 2023 salary to a signing bonus and converted $11.79 million of his 2024 and $12.995 million of his 2025 salary to a bonus. The Browns added multiple void years to prorate the bonuses. The move created $2.7 million in 2023 cap space, $8.75 million in 2024 cap space, and $7.4 million in 2025 cap space. If Njoku's contract voids in 2026 he will leave the Browns with $24.3 million in dead money.
